As those of you who know me are aware, I recently published a book called The Birds Still Sing: My Journey of Resilience Through Postpartum Depression.
The book is an invaluable and inspiring read for anyone who is struggling to rediscover meaning and purpose after a devastating experience of any kind. In the book, I give a real-life account of myself as a young mother who plunged into the dark depths of postpartum depression. But the inspiring message of the book is the story of how I emerged from the darkness as a stronger, more resilient person. Although my story focuses on postpartum depression, it is a book that will resonate with any readers who have struggled with a difficult challenge of any kind in their life; whether it is a major loss, relationship break up or a physical or mental health crisis.
The book was reviewed by Kirkus Reviews and their comment about the book was that "it is an unblinking, valuable portrait of hope." People have told me that it is difficult to put the book down once they started to read it. It is a short read and I hope you will be inspired to get a copy. My website www.gracetallman.com gives you the details of how to purchase it. You can also feel free to email me at astrongeryoulondon@gmail.com and I will be happy to mail it to you.
I have posted a video of an interview that my daughter Hailey did with me about the book. It is about 10 minutes long
